Welcome to Nakauraya Website.
Do you know "Yubeshi"? It's a traditional sweet of Japan.
Today, there are many different types of Yubeshi all over Japan, in many different forms passed down for generations.
The most notable of these is Maru-Yubeshi, a sweet representing the ancient food culture of Wajima, in the Noto Peninsula.
Yubeshi have developed organically in each region. Among these, Maru-Yubeshi of Wajima is the closest to original Yubeshi.
Unlike other Yubeshi, our Maru-Yubeshi contain large amounts of yuzu peel, and thus have a rich citrus aroma. Maru-Yubeshi also require many months to blend the mochi with yuzu and to let it mature.
We at Nakauraya are proud of making traditional Yubeshi and maintaining its time-honored methods of production, fragrance and taste.
Through our work, we believe that we can preserve the food culture of the Noto peninsula for generations to come.
